Socio-Legal Strategic Advisory

The Lead

Divya Tripathi is the Founder and Lead of Equity Script. An alumna of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, her academic foundation is rooted in the analytical rigour of constitutional law and access to justice. Her primary institutional expertise was developed as a Lead Researcher for the Centre for Research and Planning at the Supreme Court of India. In this role, she authored a nationally cited report on reforming administrative nomenclature and developed the 'grammar of inequality' framework to address structural discrimination. This work serves as the strategic cornerstone of her practice. Beyond the courtroom, her empirical portfolio includes qualitative studies on the Manual Scavenging Act and carceral rights compliance. This work is informed by intensive field research at the Kalyan Female Prison in Mumbai and the Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack. Additionally, as a faculty member at National Law University Odisha, she taught Clinical Legal Education with a focus on prison advocacy and labour rights. Her tenure at Ashoka University specialised in writing pedagogy and instructional design, developing strategies to support academic clarity and inclusive learning. She continues to conduct pioneering research on the intersection of AI with pedagogy and epistemic agency, exploring how technology redefines the landscape of higher education. Her work is defined by a commitment to bridging high-level legal doctrine with empirical field realities. At Equity Script, she ensures that every strategic insight is grounded in rigorous evidence and a pursuit of systemic dignity.

RESEARCH PORTFOLIO

Socio-legal pieces that name the problem precisely

The Research Portfolio at Equity Script provides empirical and actionable analysis of institutional structures. This body of work is built on the analytical rigour of a TISS foundation and lived research experiences of more than a decade. I specialise in naming systemic problems with precision to provide the blueprint for structural reform. From judicial nomenclature to carceral compliance, my research ensures that policy is always rooted in ground reality. By integrating doctrinal scholarship with rigorous field-based data, I help institutions move beyond symbolic gestures toward systemic dignity.
